Pompadour. A quaint little city about an hour away from The Colorado.
HELLO BEAUTIFUL BLUE SKY AND SUNSHINE!!!! Boy have we MISSED YOU!
We woke up to a BEAUTIFUL 60 degree Saturday after months (literally) of freezing temperatures and being cooped up in our little loft. We knew that we had to seize the day and go see something. Pompadour is famous for its stables and still serves as an Arabian horse breeding city. We were able to tour the castle grounds, stables, and carriages. There was no one around so I even hopped up and sat in a few of them... very cool! Then we walked across the street to see the racetrack/ obstacle course. We were able to watch some jockeys practice and I had a huge urge to hop on a horse and gallop (slowly) around the track. How fun would that be? We are hoping to go back this summer so we can see an actual race.
It was a much needed day out and we had so much fun being outside, being together, and basking in the sunshine. I spent a long time just laying under the sun and enjoying the warmth on my face and the cool breeze blowing in my hair. I honestly think I would have been content just lying on that bench for hours.
Welcome. Spring. Its good to see you.
The chateau is beautiful! It must have been so fun to have the place to yourselves :)
