27: Reflection and Promise

Twenty-seven has been a year full of HUGE ups and rock bottom lows.  It has been a year of growth, challenge, loneliness, celebration, change, loss, grief, learning, perseverance, adventure, and love.  It has been a year where I learned to cherish friendships more than ever, hug family tighter, and love even deeper.  A year that I learned how incredibly independent I can be in a very unnatural and challenging setting and one where childhood daydreams blossomed into reality.  A year I will never forget.  It is crazy to think this time, last year we were in our cute little Lakewood duplex talking about all this year had to offer and praying that it would deliver on its promise.  It did and now I am looking forward to what the year ahead has in store for us.

I have so many plans, but I have recently learned the hard way, that I am not always in control. In fact, I don't have any control at all.  All I can do is strive to be the best person I know how to be, be obedient in my faith, and pray like crazy that God's will aligns with mine.  I have an inkling we have some treasures in store for us this year.
Twenty-eight used to sound so old... but I am so content with where life has me right now. I finally feel comfortable and confident in my own skin.  It's a gift, really.  To finally let go of the insecurity and be unashamedly yourself. Cheers to whatever lies ahead!
