How am I going to learn?
- Rosetta Stone - I have it and have worked through Level 1 (still need to purchase 2 & 3)
- Local University in Egletons - My BIL (Nolan) and I are going to attend the local University in town to take French lessons
- FRENCH MOVIES...remember that tradition we started a few months ago? I love watching French movies w/ English subtitles. It has made me really familiar with the sound of the language. (AND I love French Music - Edith Piaf is magical)
- Immersion - the best way to learn a language is to LIVE it. I am going to try my hardest to not lean on Logan as a crutch since he is completely bilingual.
It is a HUGELY daunting task for an adult... my neices picked it up in a matter of months with their under 6 year old brains... But I am really excited and ready to take on the challenge. If only I would have known how my life would end up, I would have bypassed Spanish and taken French in high school. Oh well!
Note: In Paris, majority of people speak English. It is very easy to get around that town as an English speaker. Now Egletons is tougher... b/c its in Central France in a small town. I think this will be beneficial and frustrating at the same time. Good in learning the language, bad in the "making friends" department.
